SAHUARITA, Ariz. – Farmers Investment Co (FICO) / Green Valley Pecan Company, a global leader in the growing and processing of pecans, announces that Brian
Driscoll has been promoted to Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Driscoll replaces Bruce Caris, who retired after 20 years at FICO.
In his new role, Driscoll will oversee all divisions of the company: FICO, Green Valley Pecan Company, and the Pecan Store. His career with FICO started in 2009 as the Farm Manager for the San Simon operation. In 2019, he was named General Manager of Farming Operations which included farms in Albany, GA, San Simon, Sahuarita and Green Valley, AZ.
“Brian has a proven understanding of the industry, the growing and processing challenges and opportunities, and an ability to lead. This all makes him the perfect candidate to take us well into the future,” said Dick Walden, Chief Executive Officer of FICO / Green Valley Pecan Company.
Prior to FICO, Driscoll worked in international regulatory operations with the US Department of Agriculture, Pace Foods/Campbell Soup Co, and took on management roles within the chile processing industry in AZ. Driscoll grew up in Las Cruces, NM and attended New Mexico State University where he graduated with a BS in Agriculture Biology in 1990.
Driscoll will strive to continue Green Valley Pecan Company’s excellence in the industry. He said, “I believe that my background and passion for agriculture could be important contributors to our success, but most importantly it is the commitment shown by our team members at all levels who will get us there and I will do everything necessary to keep that commitment present.”
