Q: Are your pecans free of GMOs?
A: Our raw in-shell or shelled pecans are comprised of 100% shelled pecans. The leading pecan crop breeding expert working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture advises that no pecan trees in their orchards or labs contain GMOs. The genetic engineering of pecans is not a strategy being used in the development of pecan cultivars.
Q: How do I know your pecans are gluten-free?
A: Pecans are naturally gluten-free. Our raw in-shell or shelled pecans are comprised of 100% shelled pecans, and our facility only processes pecans.
While our natural pecans are gluten-free, some products sold in our Pecan Store may contain other ingredients, please review the label of each product for additional information.
Q: A family member is extremely allergic to peanuts. Are any of peanuts or other allergens processed in your facility?
A: Two-Part Answer:
Part 1: If you are purchasing or have purchased our natural pecan halves or pieces ( 8 oz, 6 oz, 16 oz retail pack) our pecans are free from any allergens other than pecans.
Part 2: If you are, however, thinking of purchasing any of our candied varieties through our store website, those are processed at a facility where allergens may be present.
Q: Am I at risk of ingesting pesticides from your pecans?
A: This depends on the type of product. Organic = no pesticides are used, natural pest management in the form of green lacewing beneficial insects are utilized to control the aphid population. Watch Video. As an assurance, all our conventional pecans are thoroughly tested for pesticide residues and they fall within specification (i.e. no residues are detected)
Q: How do you keep the pesticides from blowing on the organic pecans on a windy day?
A: As stewards of the land, we keep the sake of the environment and surrounding community at the forefront of our consideration for all aspects of farming. Wind and other climate conditions are factored into all application plans when any form of chemical is involved. We respect buffer zones to mitigate drift from one field onto another. And only apply when and what is necessary to promote a healthy orchard.

In Arizona, your local Bashas’ store will carry our pecans.
Q: Do you allow people to come pick their own pecans from your orchard?
A: No, due to food safety and public liability concerns our orchards are private property and the public is not able to access the orchard. The exception to this rule is our annual Sahuarita Pecan Festival, where we offer a tour of part of the orchard close to the festivities during our hayride. This enables the public to get fully immersed in the trees, while learning about our harvest process. Get in line early as this is our most popular festival event.
