FICO celebrates 14 years of fitness, community, and local giving
Sahuarita, AZ — Farmers Investment Co. (FICO), growers of Green Valley Pecans, is excited to announce the beneficiaries of the 14th Annual Breeze in the Trees run, taking place on Saturday, July 26, 2025. This year’s event will benefit three outstanding local youth organizations:
- Sahuarita 4-H Club
- Walden Grove High School Marching Band
- Sahuarita Sidewinders youth baseball team
For the past 14 years, FICO has opened the orchard to welcome athletes, families, and fitness enthusiasts to enjoy a refreshing early morning run through the shaded pecan groves—offering a cool and scenic alternative to the summer heat.
“Breeze in the Trees is more than just a run—it’s a celebration of community, wellness, and giving back,” said Paula Beemer, Event Coordinator. “Each year, we’re proud to support local groups that are making a real impact on youth development in our region.”
This event is also part of the Pecan Orchard Series, a seasonal lineup of runs hosted by FICO. Breeze in the Trees is the second run in the series, which concludes in November with the popular Pecan Classic 5K/10K, a fall race that takes place during harvest season and draws participants from across Southern Arizona.
The 5K run is USATF sanctioned, chip-timed, and includes medals for the first 300 finishers, awards for top finishers in each age group, and gift certificates to The Running Shop for overall and masters winners. Participants will also enjoy a free event T-shirt (guaranteed if registered by July 11) and a pancake breakfast topped with Green Valley Pecans, prepared by the Green Valley Firefighters Association.
